Retro Ringer Series – Auvergne Scrubber Cap
A cap that captures the wild days of scrubber catching in the Kimberley—before bionic arms, before bull catchers, when it was all horsepower and grit.
The Retro Ringer Series is a tribute to the real cattle country, and this Auvergne Scrubber Edition throws it back to the late 70s, when tail-throwing a scrubber on the run was just another day’s work. Designed in chocolate sturdy acrylic with a tan contrast brim and chocolate mesh, this cap carries the history of the hard country under the brim.
📸 Under-Brim Photo:
Captured at Auvergne Station in the Kimberley, this shot shows Robert Townsend, Freddy Pocock, and Mandy Fogarty (on the front leg), tail-throwing a scrubber in full flight.
Back then, there were no bionic arms, no bull catchers—just horses, old Toyotas, and the sheer strength to bring one down.
The Fogarty family ran Auvergne Station from the 60s to the 80s. Mandy and Robert were married at Auvergne, and not long after, their eldest child Jess was born. The Fogartys had come from Mitchell, western QLD, after working for AACO at Caldervale, before being asked to run Auvergne in the Top End.
The Kimberley country was next level—rocky ranges, massive rivers, and scrubbers that knew how to run. Mustering here wasn’t for the faint-hearted, and this cap carries that same energy.
